The 17th Kathmandu Marathon, with over 5,000 expected participants including 200 international athletes, will be held on November 1, 2025, starting from Dasharath Stadium.

The official announcement of Kathmandu Marathon 2025, to be held on November 1 (Kartik 15, 2082), has been made today at Hotel Royal Singi. In the presence of more than 100 distinguished personalities from different fields, the 17th edition of Kathmandu Marathon has been publicly declared.

Kathmandu Marathon was first organized in 2007 under the chairmanship of N.R.S. Sports Foundation’s Chairman and Founder Mr. Nilendra Raj Shrestha. Since then, this prestigious event has continuously contributed to promoting public health awareness, sports tourism, and over the years it has also provided and has been an important platform to Nepali athletes to inspire and promote them at the international level. With enthusiastic participation of international athletes, more than 5,000 people are expected to take part in this year’s Kathmandu Marathon, along with around 200 international participants.

With the slogan “Nepal for Nepali Relationship Forever,” this year’s marathon will begin from Dasharath Stadium and pass through four cities (Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, and Kirtipur). For the biggest marathon of the year, Sidhartha Bank has joined and signed the MOU for 3 years as the Title Sponsor. Similarly, the following partners have also extended their support:

Key dignitaries present in the program were:

  • Mrs. Sunit Shrestha (National Marathon Runner)

This year, more than 5,000 participants from 13 different athletes group and people from the age of 4 to 70 years are expected to participate.

Since its inception in 2007, Kathmandu Marathon has become a unique blend of sports, health, and unity. The 17th edition aims to warmly welcome athletes, both national and international participants, while showcasing Kathmandu’s cultural heritage and traditions through marathon routes across the city.
