A 'conveyor belt' system has been installed under the state-of-the-art 'baggage handling system' at the arrival hall of Nepalgunj airport.
Now the goods of passengers coming to Nepalgunj from different places can be provided quickly. A 'conveyor belt' system has been installed in the arrival hall of the airport at a cost of more than two million rupees.
Previously, it was very time-consuming and difficult for the staff to distribute the baggage of the passengers arriving at the arrival hall by hand. After the operation of this service, it has become easier for both passengers and airlines to pick up their luggage.
The length of the conveyor belt installed in the arrival hall of Nepalgunj Airport is 40.6 meters and the luggage handling capacity is 2,400 to 3,000 per hour.
In accordance with the plan to enhance passenger service facilities at various domestic airports of Nepal, the Civil Aviation Authority has informed that in the first phase, the 'conveyor belt' system has been put into operation under the baggage 'handling system' in Nepalgunj, Biratnagar and Dhangadhi.
“This system has been put into operation at Nepalgunj Airport with the aim of increasing the service facilities of the airport and providing more convenient services to the passengers.” Said Suresh Khanal, Head of Civil Aviation Office, Nepalgunj._Rss
