In a significant stride towards promoting tourism, Tokdang Dhap Community Housing in Ichchakamana-3, Chitwan, has commenced its operations. The inauguration ceremony, held on Saturday, was officiated by Narayan Prasad Adhikari, Chief of Gharbas District Coordination, Chitwan.
Expressing optimism, Adhikari believes that Gharbas will play a pivotal role in enhancing tourism and has urged the local community to entertain guests with cultural displays and serve dishes crafted from indigenous products. Highlighting Ichchakamana's potential as a tourist destination, he pledged district coordination support for tourism promotion.
Dan Bahadur Gurung, the village chairman, underscored Gharbas' role in attracting tourists from Fisling to Ichchakamana, Urdangarhi, and onward to Sauraha. Gurung emphasized the ease of travel from Fisling to Sauraha via Ichchakamana and announced the initiation of community housing to facilitate village stays for tourists.
The two-room community housing facility, accommodating ten people, was constructed with a total investment of Rs. 13 lakhs from the rural municipality, Rs. 1 lakh 92 thousand from Ichchakamana Aama Group Tokdang, and Rs. 1 lakh from Nepal Red Cross Society Ichchakamana-3 Tokdang Dhap. Additionally, the rural municipality provided essential bedding for the households, and resident Krishna Bahadur Gurung generously donated the land for the building's construction.
The rural municipality plans to offer financial subsidies and training to residents interested in operating gharbas, specifically targeting tourists visiting Upardangdi, Siraichuli Hattiwang, Ichchakamana Mandir, and the Mayatar Jalvire Waterfall in the district. This initiative aims to further enrich the tourism experience and empower the local community in the region._Rss
