Dashain is a time for family reunions, cherished traditions and delicious food. Bringing these festive elements together, Best Western Plus Kathmandu Hotel has introduced Dashain Ko Swaad, a special dining experience celebrating Nepal’s biggest festival through authentic flavours and warm hospitality.

Running from October 9 to 21, 2026, the festive buffet begins daily at 6:30 p.m. at the hotel in Pingalasthan, Vijay Chowk, Kathmandu. Priced at NPR 2,499, the experience offers a variety of traditional Nepali favourites alongside international dishes. Guests can also enjoy a 20% discount on beverages ordered à la carte, subject to the hotel's promotional terms.
The culinary experience begins with a selection of refreshing salads, roasted roots with feta, red pumpkin, potato chaulkani and traditional Nepali pickles. Familiar favourites such as lapsi ko achar, gundruk ko achar, aloo mula kerau ko achar and golabheda ko achar bring the distinctive tastes of Nepali households to the festive table.

For those seeking comforting traditional flavours, the buffet features khutti soup, prepared with mutton leg, alongside aloo bodi tama or kwati. A live cooking station adds to the experience with popular delicacies such as chicken choila, soyabean sandeko, mutton bhutan, mass ko bara, fried baby fish, beaten rice and puffed rice.

The main course offers a generous selection of dishes, including mutton bhutuwa, chara ko jhol, kalo dal tempered with jimbu, paneer kerau ko tarkari, mixed vegetable curry, butter rice, tandoori naan and Nepali-style chowmein. Traditional desserts such as kheer and gajar ko haluwa provide a sweet conclusion to the festive meal.

Beyond the food, Dashain Ko Swaad celebrates the togetherness that defines Dashain. By combining familiar festive recipes with a welcoming dining atmosphere, Best Western Plus Kathmandu Hotel aims to create an experience where families, friends and visitors can gather, reconnect and enjoy the season.
