The Airlines Operators' Association of Nepal (AOAN) has demanded that the government and concerned stakeholders create a favorable atmosphere to resume air service, reasoning that the industry has been hardly hit due to the prolonged lockdown.
The association issued a press release and reminded that thousands of people employed in the air service sector were rendered jobless after flights were disrupted since March 24.
A favorable atmosphere is required to resume domestic and international air service from coming September 1. The recent meeting of the Council of Ministers had decided to suspend air service till September 1. "If the air service is not resumed from September 1, the Association will resort to protest," the release stated, stressing the need for immediate resumption of domestic flights
