In order to preserve the art, culture, and historical traditions of the Magar community, the construction of a Magar Museum has been started on the mountain.
Under the leadership of Pun Yuva Club, a museum has been started to be built near Durlungchok in District Kushma on the opposite side of Madhyapahari Highway. Kushma Nagar chief Ramchandra Joshi laid the foundation stone of the museum building on Wednesday.
In order to build the museum, the club has organized the Magar Festival twice in the last two years, and this time, it has collected funds by playing Deusi Bhailo.
It is said that the collection of samples of historical and archaeological objects of the Magar community and other tribes, historical textbooks, preservation of religion, culture and language, art culture, customs and behavior, food dishes of the Magar community will be covered in the museum.
Preparations have also been made to keep the language, costumes, materials used by all castes, pictures that reflect their daily life, etc.
According to the club, the construction has been started with Rs. 25 lakhs and after the start of the work, the support will be gradually received.
“Although the museum will be built under the leadership of the Magar community, there will be objects of archaeological importance for all castes.” Said Kushma Nagar chief Joshi.
“The museum will be important in the preservation of items of historical importance.” Said Deputy Chief Swasthani Rizal.
“It is not certain that the construction will be completed on this date. They will continue the Deusi Bhailo and Magar Mahotsav once again since they will take initiatives in the government agencies to prevent the lack of funds.” Said Gum Bahadur Pun, coordinator of the building committee.
“The same amount and the rest will be collected from various donors and will be constructed at a cost of Rs.1 crore. The art, skills and promotion of the Magar caste, has started the construction of the building with the budget,” said Krishna Pun, president of the youth club._Rss
