A total of 1,920 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
The new cases were confirmed from 9,443 PCR tests and 3,037 antigen tests conducted in various laboratories across the country during the same period. This takes the COVID-19 caseload to 747,433 to date.
Similarly, 2,248 people enjoyed full recovery from the flu-like infection in a day taking the COVID-19 recovery to 698,173 as of now, the Ministry said in its routine virtual press meet. The recovery rate is at 93.4 percent. Currently, there are a total of 38,751 active cases across the country.
Likewise, 24 people succumbed to deadly infections in the past 24 hours. With this, the number of people dying from coronavirus infection reached 10,509.
Currently, a total of 681 infected ones who are in critical condition have been receiving treatment at ICU facilities while 169 in ventilator support. The rest of the infected are being treated in home isolation and institutional isolation.
Meanwhile, 18,322 were vaccinated against COVID-19 in a day. The number of fully vaccinated persons stands at 3,846,736.
The Kathmandu Valley recorded 566 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. There were 395 new cases in Kathmandu, 110 in Lalitpur, and 61 in Bhaktapur.
There are currently 7,420 active cases in Kathmandu, 1,400 in Bhaktapur, and 2,218 in Lalitpur, the Ministry said.
