The massive flood that occurred on June 16 damaged roads, suspension, and motorable bridges in the western belt of Sindhupalchowk. The collapse of bridges in different locations severed road connections to Helambu, Panchpokhari Thangpal, various villages of Melamchi Municipality, and Indrawati Rural Municipality.

With the detachment for long, the local levels have initiated to restore the alternative land routes. Now, the roadway to reach Gyalthum of Helambu from Kathmandu has been ready. It links Sankhu of Kathmandu via Bhotechaur, Haibung and Patibhanjyang, said a people's representative, Nima Gyaljen Sherpa.

Similarly, efforts are underway to manage an alternative roadway for the buses to operate along the Narayantar, Bhotechaur, Dhuseni, Manebhanjyang, Chapbot, Talamarang, and Dhungrebazar.

Transport entrepreneur Suresh Shrestha informed that a bus left from Kathmandu for Sindhupalchowk at 6:00 am, 9:00 am, and 12:00 noon. The bus service could be increased in view of the condition of the above-mentioned road.
