A total of 1,043 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours according to the Ministry of Health and Population

A total of 1,043 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours. The new cases were confirmed in the 15,465 samples collected and tested in various laboratories across the country, the Ministry of Health and Population said in its routine virtual press meet today. 

Similarly, 891 COVID-19 patients enjoyed a full recovery in a day, taking the recovery caseload to 772,229 to date. The recovery rate now is 96.6 percent. 

Likewise, 12 people succumbed to the flu-like infection in the past 24 hours. With this, fatalities from the deadly infection reached 11,192 as of now. 

Currently, there are 16,194 active cases in the country. Among them, 14975 were receiving treatment in home isolation while 1,219 were being treated in institutional isolation. While 338 COVID-19 patients were in ICU, 115 were in ventilator support and 467 were quarantined, shared the Ministry. 

Meanwhile, 59,376 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 today alone. Altogether 6,419,480 people have been fully vaccinated to date while 7,962,647 have received the first dose of the vaccine, according to the Ministry.
