Bedkot Lake, a tourist spot in Kanchanpur, is connected by a paved road network. The tarred road has been extended up to the lake in Chure Phedi located in Bedkot Municipality-3.
In the past, to reach Bedkot Lake, one had to walk on a gravel road. Since the tourist spot, Bedkot Lake, has been connected with the Kalopatra road network, traffic has become easier. When there was a gravel road, people have to run away from the traffic. Now, after the construction of the tarred road, it is easy to go back and forth, and now people can reach the lake by car.
Domestic and foreign tourists come to see Bedkot Lake, which is a major tourist destination of Kanchanpur. The road network has reached Bedkot Lake under the road plan, which is under construction from Daiji in Kanchanpur to Jogbudha in Dadeldhura. Although the road network has reached up to Bedkot Lake, the construction work of the Daiji-Jogbudha road project has been slow lately.
The construction of the Daiji-Jogbudha road, which started in 2042, has not yet been completed. This road is seen as the shortest distance road connecting Terai to distant hilly districts.
“The tarred road has been extended from Daiji Bazaar to Bedkot Lake under East-West Mahendra Highway. The tarred road has reached from Daiji to a place called Sinyari above Bedkot lake. About 10-12 kilometers of the road has been black," said the chairman of Ward No. 3, Mohan Gurdhami._Rss
