A cycle journey initiated by three women journalists from Mahakali concluded at the Kakadbhitta-based Mechi Bridge

Three women journalists from Mahakali have completed a cycle journey from Gaddachauki in Kanchanpur to the Mechi Bridge in Kakadbhitta. The purpose of the journey was to raise awareness and bring an end to all forms of discrimination against Dalits.

The journalists, Rita Biswokarma Budhathoki, Sangeeta Nepali, and Indira Biswokarma, began their journey on April 19 and concluded it on Tuesday evening. During the journey, they hoisted the national flag on their bicycles and organized awareness programs against discrimination in different districts.

Budhathoki, who works for Radio Nepal and is a resident of Rupandehi, explained that despite the political changes and upheavals in the country, the Dalit community has not yet achieved equality and self-respect in the political, economic, and social sectors. She expressed hope that their journey had sent a positive message for equality and self-respect._Rss
