The constant rain from October 19 to October 24 utterly destroyed the Karnali roadway. The residents of this area are suffering because landslides have blocked the route.

Karnali highway is the most convenient way for the residents of Upper Karnali. Residents of Karnali used to reach different places of the country through this highway.

Only 26 km is left for the Karnali highway to be fully opened. According to the road division office, out of 232 km of the Jumla-Surkhet road section, 26 km from Sherabada to Nagm in Calikot is being cleared.

The Karnali highway was cut off due to incessant rain. Landslide removal is going on. Vehicles are running smoothly from Surkhet to Sherabada in Kalikot. Blasting work is also being done due to the landslide of large stones.

“The representatives of the local administration, local level, and the road division office are working day and night on the road to remove landslides from the highway. About 15 to 20 dozers have been used to remove the landslide,” said Rajeev Shrestha, head of the office.

“The work of opening the road is going on with the police administration, local people's representative, road division office and the Nepali army. According to the road division office, there is work left to remove landslides within 13 km of the Nagm-Gamgarhi highway.” He added._Rss
