Two local governments here have started collecting details of their citizens residing in different countries. Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality and Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality have initiated collecting information of their residents currently living in foreign countries including India in the course of employment and study through a google form.
Chairperson of Shahid Lakhan Ramesh Babu Thapa Magar shared that the information collection was initiated by developing a google form to take stock of the situation of its people abroad when the COVID-19 outbreak was soaring across the globe.
The form is designed to collect information such as the country of their present residence, employment status, he noted. "All Nepali citizens presently residing outside can fill up mobile-based forms from where they are, " he said, adding it will help understand in which condition their citizens are living.
Both the rural municipalities have also urged their citizens outside to fill up the google-initiated forms. Barpak Sulikot Chair Bishnu Prasad Bhatta said the forms would also provide them with information to know the interest of the Nepali citizens infected with coronavirus to return to the country.
