Today, the Barpak Sulikot rural municipality in Gorkha held a special program to commemorate the devastating April 25, 2015 earthquake. The earthquake, which measured 7.8 on the Richter scale and had its epicenter at Barpark, resulted in a significant loss of lives and property.

Notable attendees at the event included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Minister for Urban Development Sita Gurung, who were accompanied by home secretary Binod Prakash Singh and Secretary at the Ministry of Urban Development, Suresh Acharya, as confirmed by the rural municipality chair Bishnu Prasad Bhatta.
