Another 88-meter-long bridge linking Myagdi is being built

A bridge of 88 metres long was constructed on three years between Baglung and Myagdi. The journey is easy to construct a bridge connecting Myagdi district to Beni Municipality-1 Ratnechaur.

Baglung, which is known as the district of suspension bridges, has been adding long and high suspension bridges in recent times. Within a year of the addition of Nepal's longest suspension bridge connecting Baglung and Parbat, the construction of the suspension bridge connecting Kudule Phedi of Baglung Municipality-4 to Ratnechaur of Beni Municipality-1 in Myagdi district had started.

The federal government's suspension bridge division, Kathmandu, had laid the foundation stone for the construction of a bridge over dhodeni rivulet connecting Ratnechaur of Beni municipality-1 of Myagdi to Kudanu of Baglung municipality-4 in September last year. The suspension bridge connecting Kudule to Ratnechaur has been constructed at a cost of Rs 35 million.

After the construction of the bridge, it will be easier for the general public to market vegetables and milk produced in Ratnechaur and travel from Beni to Baglung via foot.

The foundation stone of the bridge was laid in September last year so that the work could be completed by mid-July last year. Jaylal Sapkota, Indra Sharma and Pashupati Sapkota, both residents of Kundule, had provided about one and a half ropanis of land towards Baglung for the construction of the bridge.

Myagdi: Residents of Ratnechaur and Jyamrukkot areas of Myagdi district have been carrying out economic transactions and business activities in Baglung bazaar rather than beni bazaar, the district headquarters.

According to locals, the bridge will help develop Baglung Bazaar and Ratnechaur by linking them with tourism. The number of domestic tourists is expected to increase with the construction of the bridge this year.

With the construction of the bridge, the number of visitors visiting salgram museum at Panchakot and Kundule of Baglung is expected to increase. Locals including Ratnechaur, Jyamrukkot and others will go to Beni only for administrative work and come to Baglung for other financial transactions.

“The construction of the bridge connecting Kudule to Ratnechaur has been completed and only the handover work is left. The construction of the suspension bridge connecting Baglung and Myagdi districts has been completed,” said Narahari Khadka, official representative of Thani Himshikhar JV Construction Company

“The construction of the bridge, the one-hour road was cut short in five minutes,” said Kumar Bikram Chhetri, Ward chair of Baglung Municipality-4._Rss
