Sarmila's strong dedication to product excellence, customer satisfaction, and women empowerment serves as the backbone of Sumo World's success story

Sarmila Joshi's journey as the CEO of Sumo World is a testament to her determination, vision, and commitment to empowering women while delivering top-notch products and services. It all began in 2010 when she crossed paths with Mr. Anill Bijalani, CEO of Sumo Linen in Mumbai, who proposed the idea of expanding their business into Nepal through a franchise. Inspired by the potential of this opportunity, Sharmila seized the moment and took the bold step of launching Sumo World, a venture dedicated to supplying hotel essentials.

Having grown up in Kathmandu and armed with a master's degree in Science, Sarmila's transition from a career in a different field to entrepreneurship was driven by her passion for interior design. Despite facing health challenges that interrupted her formal studies in the subject, her love for artitecture and creating inviting spaces remained undiminished, serving as a driving force behind Sumo World's motive of combining style and comfort in their products.

Sumo World quickly became well-known in Nepal's hotel industry because of Sarmila's commitment to quality and keeping customers satisfied. Every aspect of the business, from getting the best materials from Mumbai to choosing the products, shows her dedication to making things perfect. Sumo World's success as one of Nepal's leading hotel suppliers is all thanks to Sharmila's relentless pursuit of perfection.

However, Sumo World is more than just a business venture for Sarmila; it's a platform for women empowerment. From the CEO's office to the factory floor, the company is driven by a team of talented and hardworking women. Sarmila firmly believes in providing opportunities for women to showcase their skills and talents, thereby challenging societal norms and paving the way for a more inclusive and equitable future.

Looking ahead, Sarmila envisions expanding Sumo World's horizons beyond its current offerings. She plans to establish it as a brand and diversify the company's portfolio into new fields, leveraging Nepal's plentiful resources and talent pool. Moreover, she aims to create a nurturing work environment where employees are not just colleagues but also a supportive family, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

One of Sarmila's long-term goals is to call her son, a software engineer based in the USA, back to Nepal and involve him in the business. She sees this as an opportunity to pass on her entrepreneurial spirit and values to the next generation, ensuring that Sumo World continues to thrive for years to come. Ultimately, Sarmila's strong dedication to product excellence, customer satisfaction, and women empowerment serves as the backbone of Sumo World's success story, inspiring countless others to dream big and make a positive impact on society.
