Ashish Pant's passion for uncovering hidden gems and advocating for marketing policies is reflected in his dedication to showcasing Nepal's beauty

Ashish Pant is currently working at Dusit Princess Kathmandu as a Director of Sales and Marketing. He is a hotelier with 15 years of experience in the hospitality business in both operational and commercial roles. After completing hotel school in Bangalore, India, he has worked for Hyatt Group, IHG Group, Annapurna Group of Hotels, Peak Hospitality, Hotel The Everest, and Dusit Group of Hotels.

How do you see your current role as contributing to your organization and tourism in Nepal?

At Dusit Princess Kathmandu, I am working as a Director of Sales and Marketing. We opened this hotel five months ago. As the commercial head, I am driving the operation, revenue, and marketing of the hotel to take the property to the next level by providing a blend of Thai and Nepali hospitality services.

What, in your opinion, needs to be done to help Nepal's tourism industry flourish?

As we know, Nepal is a beautiful country with lots of potential in adventure, nature, pilgrimage, and a very niche market with lots of unexplored beautiful places across the country, like Rara, Khapad, Bardiya National Park, and Shuklaphata National Park. Government bodies have to make good marketing policies to enhance these new places around the world.

What are you passionate about, or what keeps you entertained, motivated, and refreshed?

I am passionate about exploring new places. Playing games and listening to music, other than working in hotels.

What is the best thing to do in Nepal that you would suggest to a tourist or visitor?

Nepal is a beautiful country that offers a lot to tourists and visitors. Try to explore new niche places.
