Aloft Kathmandu Thamel has truly outdone itself with its latest culinary event, "Fables of Punjab," a food festival that takes guests on a journey through the vibrant flavors of 1800s Punjab. Held on two weekends, from 12–14 December and 19–21 December, the festival featured the expertise of Chef Abdul Haleem and Chef Rajeev Shrestha, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts in the city.

Set in the lively and colorful ambiance of The Nook, the festival created an inviting atmosphere that perfectly complemented the rich culinary heritage of Punjab. Guests were taken on a gastronomic journey, exploring the authentic flavors of iconic regions such as Multan, Lahore, Amritsar, and the North West Frontier Province. The vibrant decor and welcoming vibe added to the overall dining experience, ensuring every guest felt immersed in the cultural celebration.

The menu was a feast for the senses, offering an array of traditional Punjabi dishes. Signature items like butter chicken, boti kabab, Karachi chicken, and Lahori biryani were prepared with precision and care. The chefs stayed true to the roots of these dishes by sourcing spices and ingredients directly from Punjab, even incorporating a touch of attar essence to elevate the authenticity.

Adding to the excitement was a live counter where guests could watch the preparation of boti kabab and tikki, offering a firsthand experience of the culinary process. This interactive element not only showcased the chefs’ skills but also deepened the connection between the guests and the cuisine.

Fables of Punjab was more than just a food festival—it was a tribute to the rich history and culture of Punjab. The event left guests with not only full bellies but also a deeper appreciation for the timeless culinary traditions of the region. Aloft Kathmandu Thamel once again proved its ability to create memorable experiences, leaving food lovers eagerly anticipating the next event.
