From August 23rd to 25th, 2024, Aloft Kathmandu Thamel is bringing the rich and royal flavors of Lucknow to the heart of Kathmandu with an exclusive culinary event, "Let’s Go Lucknowi." This event is a celebration of the time-honored traditions of Lucknow’s royal cuisine, offering food enthusiasts an unforgettable dining experience at the hotel’s Nook restaurant.
Meet the Culinary Masters
The event is led by the renowned Chef Mujeeb Ur Rehman, a master of Lucknow's traditional dishes. Born on May 17, 1974, in Old Lucknow, India, Chef Mujeeb's passion for cooking was inspired by his great-grandfather, Late Abdul Raheem Quraishi, who was associated with the Royal Kitchen of Awadh during the British era. Despite his father’s wishes for him to become an engineer, Chef Mujeeb followed his passion for cooking, forming a small group of traditional cooks (Khansamas) under the brand name, "Kitchenette Awadh" in 1995. Over the years, Chef Mujeeb has not only mastered the art of non-vegetarian dishes but has also developed a strong expertise in vegetarian Awadhi cuisine, proving that Muslim food can be both authentic and vegetarian.
Joining him is Aloft Kathmandu’s Executive Chef, Rajeev Shrestha, who together with Chef Mujeeb, is bringing the rich and timeless traditions of Lucknow’s cuisine to Kathmandu.
