Tarebhir Hike is a must-visit destination for all nature enthusiasts in Kathmandu. It offers the perfect blend of natural beauty, moderate hiking challenges, and awe-inspiring views

Located in Gokarneshwor, just below Shivapuri National Park, Tarebhir proved to be the perfect choice for a kid-friendly hike. It was easily accessible and offered a sense of achievement without being too strenuous. The trail starts from Krishna Mandir in Jagdol, Gokarneshwor, and although it has its occasional steep sections, the overall hike is smooth and manageable.

We set off on our adventure, filled with excitement and anticipation. The entire hike, including the ascent and descent, took us approximately three hours. Throughout our journey, we marveled at the diverse terrain and open spaces that unfolded before us, providing a refreshing change of scenery. As we climbed higher, the beauty of the surroundings became even more apparent, leaving us in awe.

What made Tarebhir even more appealing was the spectacular view awaiting us at the top. It was a sight to behold! From our vantage point, we could admire the enchanting landscapes of the Kathmandu Valley in all their glory. The feeling of accomplishment and the sheer beauty that surrounded us made this hike truly memorable.

The best part? The entry fee was absolutely free! Tarebhir warmly welcomes hikers all year round, with the exception of the monsoon season. We highly recommend avoiding the months of July and August due to the unfavorable weather conditions. However, during the rest of the year, Tarebhir is a hiker's paradise.

For those who wish to prolong their adventure, Tarebhir offers a campsite where you can spend the night. Imagine waking up to breathtaking views and being immersed in nature's embrace. It's an experience not to be missed!

Additionally, if you're craving more outdoor activities, the nearby 'Ultimate Venue' provides a variety of thrilling options such as combat obstacle courses, high ropes obstacles, rock climbing, and cycling. It's the perfect way to add some extra excitement to your hiking trip.

When it comes to transportation, there are several routes you can take to reach Tarebhir. If you prefer public transport, you can start your journey from Ratna Park and take a bus to Bouddha. From there, you can catch a microbus to Jagdole Gokarneshwor and follow the well-paved trail to the picnic spot. Alternatively, private vehicle owners can take the route via Chabahil, Buddha, and then Jagdole. Upon reaching Jagdole, you'll find a warm welcome gate where you can park your vehicle before commencing the Tarebhir Hike.

For those looking for a shortcut, driving to Khatri Chowk and then hiking straight up to Tarebhir is an option worth considering. The route takes you through Budhanilkhantha Temple, Narayan Gopal Chowk, Bansbari, Chapali, and eventually to Paudel Chowk and Khatri Chowk. At Khatri Chowk, you'll come across a restaurant called Tarebhir Base Camp, where you can make a left turn and continue along the dirt road.

Tarebhir Hike is a must-visit destination for all nature enthusiasts in Kathmandu. It offers the perfect blend of natural beauty, moderate hiking challenges, and awe-inspiring views. So, if you're in the area, don't miss the opportunity to embark on this unforgettable adventure. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Happy hiking, fellow explorers!
