Eric Valli honoured ‘VNY 2020 Goodwill Ambassador’

The Visit Nepal 2020 committee organised an event to present the title of ‘Visit Nepal Year 2020 Goodwill Ambassador’ to Eric Valli on June 25 at Kaiser Mahal

An event to honour Eric Valli as ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ for Visit Nepal Year 2020 was held at Kaiser Mahal on June 25. Eric Valli, famed photographer and film director who has spent most of his career working in inaccessible locations of the world, is also an Academy Award nominee for the Nepali film ‘Himalaya'. 

The afternoon featured a discussion meeting with the Visit Nepal Year committee and media-personnel speaking about the prospects of Nepal as a tourist destination. Valli's experiences in Nepal were highlighted along with the power of film direction in fostering the development of tourism in the country. 

While presenting the title to Eric Valli, Suraj Vaidya, National Co-ordinator of VNY 2020 said, "We, the committee and Valli came up with a great idea to have a week of movie festivals. Encourage filmmakers all around the globe to visit Nepal and use destinations in Nepal as the backdrop in their films and documentaries.” The VNY 2020 committee is also announcing more than 26 hidden destinations to promote tourism.
