Now, the organization has projected a massive resurgence in US tourism in the year 2022.

If there are no other restrictions made this year, it has been predicted that the travel and tourism sector in the US will contribute about $2 trillion to the US economy exceeding pre-pandemic levels by 6.2 per cent. The projected recovery has been based on strong and steady gains in the sectors in 2021 as infection rates drop and travellers benefit from the opening of the countries and the rollout of vaccines and boosters.

It also has been forecasted that the employment from this sector could reach 16.8 million jobs in the US, surging ahead of the pre-pandemic numbers by 200,000 workers. The WTTC has said that they expect a strong consumer-side economic recovery in the sector. Moreover, they have told that with the right conditions and existing circumstances of pent-up demand will result in the rejuvenation of the sector which can deliver the economic and employment benefits that have not been seen before the pandemic.
