In the far-western region, the collection of samples of suspects of Covid-19 has decreased in recent days. In addition to the newly collected samples, 2,388 samples were tested last week and 392 people were confirmed infected.

Analyzing the data of the Ministry of Social Development, an additional 392 people were infected during the period and 413 people returned home after treatment management. So far, 9,460 have returned home. Some of the collected samples are yet to be tested.

Dr. Sher Bahadur Kamar, chief of the treatment department at Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi, Covid-19, said that the rate of transmission of coronavirus has not decreased. "As the risk of viral infections increases in the winter, the incidence of corona-like pneumonia and colds is on the rise," he said.

Hemraj Joshi, Covid-19 contact person of the Health Directorate, Dipayal, informed that the collection of samples has been reduced due to lack of necessary health workers. He said that the reduction in sampling may have been due to the fact that only those who have symptoms and come in contact with such people, who have come from other places and are in quarantine, should be sampled.

The ministry does not have statistics on the number of deaths due to infection in home isolation. So far, 19 people have died in Kailali, five in Kanchanpur, three each in Dadeldhura and Bajhang, two each in Achham, Bajura, Darchula, and one each in Doti and Baitadi.

The Seti Provincial Hospital is treating seven people in the intensive care unit and two on ventilators for corona infection. Health workers say that the risk of spreading corona has increased as the public's activity has increased without following the prescribed health safety standards.
