Rapti Peace Park is now a popular tourist destination in the area, drawing 400-500 foreign tourists per day

Rapti Peace Park, which was established with the aim of conveying the message of peace during the conflict, has now become a major tourist center in the district. The park in Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city-7 is crowded with visitors every day.

The park, which is deserted during the Corona epidemic, is now crowded with visitors. According to the park management committee, the number of tourists from outside the district has started to increase.

400 to 500 foreign tourists come daily to visit the park.  A fee of Rs 30 per person has been fixed for those who come to see the park, while a fee of Rs 300 to Rs 500 has been fixed for groups coming to eat forest food. Currently, seven people are employed in the park. By cutting all the administrative expenses, Rs. 40 to 45 lakhs will be saved annually.

The park is spread over an area of ​​fifteen hectares. Under the Rapti highway, three km north of Tulsipur Salyan road section, about one and a half east of Shrigai village, there is forest and forest on the east-south border of the park, and Ganeshpur village on the west and north. On the north side of the park, a children's park has been built and a baby rail, ping pong, chiplet, and swimming pool have been constructed in that area.

There are also different types of plants and gardens in the park. Similarly, in the mini zoo built to the north, various species of animals and birds including leopards, dumsi, ghoral, rabbits, deer, chile, and owls are kept.

The main attraction inside the park is the statue of Lord Gautam Buddha. After entering the park from the main gate, you can see the statue of Buddha at the beginning. It is said that there has been a significant increase in the number of tourists with the installation of this statue.

Here there are facilities for drinking water, toilets, firewood, and gas for those who come to eat forest food. Wishing for peace during the conflict, it was decided to build the Rapti Peace Park at the initiative of the consumers of the local Ganesh Community Forest Group, intellectuals, businessmen, civic leaders, and government agencies. The land was provided by the local Ganesh Community Forest User Committee for the construction of the park.

The amount was spent on the infrastructure of the committee's office building, walls, toilets, gates, forest picnic area, zoo, statue of Gautam Buddha, garden, children's garden, etc. Preparations are being made to bring the emo, chital, ratua, crocodile and other animals and birds in a few days.
