JAJARKOT
Rafting on the Bheri River, which was inaugurated six years ago on the occasion of the first Jajarkot Festival, has fallen into disrepair. The rafting was started at a distance of 20 km from Rimnabazar of Bheri river to Matela in Jagtipur.

According to the locals, the excursion that started with all enthusiasm could not be regularized without the construction of infrastructure. Bheri-Karnali Adventure Pvt. Surkhet had started the excursion with the investment of Nepal Tourism Board and First Jajarkot Festival Organizing Committee.

Entrepreneur Kaman Bahadur Khadka said that the tourism sector of Jajarkot has deteriorated due to the unsustainable nature of the adventure. Compared to other rivers, the Bheri River is said to be easier to navigate and less risky. "It could have been a center of attraction for both internal and external tourists if the voyage was conducted. It takes two hours to travel 20 kilometers on the Bheri River," he said.

Stakeholders have been saying that the excursion has been stranded due to lack of infrastructure, manpower and budget. Although the excursion is expected to contribute to the economic growth of the district, there has been a problem due to non-operation.
