Qatari Princess Asma Al Thani accomplished an awe-inspiring feat by successfully climbing Mount Annapurna I, one of the world's highest peaks, on Saturday. With an elevation of 8,091 meters, Annapurna I is situated in Annapurna rural municipality-4 of Myagdi.
The director of Elite Expedition, David Sherpa, stated that Princess Al Thani had the support of a team of Sherpas led by the accomplished mountaineer Nirmal Purja (Nims) for the climb. She has become the first Qatari woman to ascend Annapurna, which is the tenth-highest peak in the world.
Before this, Princess Al Thani had already climbed other high peaks such as Mount Everest, Dhaulagiri, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Manaslu, and K2. She is a doctor by profession and arrived in Myagdi on March 6 to embark on the Annapurna expedition.
This year's spring climbing season began on Saturday, and 45 people have obtained permission to climb Annapurna. Maurice Hergoz of France first climbed Annapurna in 1950.
The success of Princess Al Thani's climb is a testament to her unwavering dedication and determination. Her achievement will undoubtedly inspire other women from her country and beyond to push their limits and strive for excellence in their respective fields._Rss
