Cleaning has started in the Pashupati area in preparation for the Bala Chaturdashi festival. Devotees throng the Pashupati area from the evening of Margashirsha Krishna Trayodashi to sow Shatabij in the name of the departed ancestors.
In the evening of Margashirsha Krishna Trayodashi, devotees light lamps in the name of their departed ancestors in temples all over the country, including Pashupatinath. On the morning of Margashirsha Krishna Chaturdashi, Shatabija is sown in the Pashupati area, especially in the deer park.
“The government that in preparation for Bala Chaturdashi in the Pashupati area, electric lights have been started on the route for cleaning and sowing Shatbees. Every year on the morning of Margashirsha Krishna Chaturdashi, there is a Vedic Sanatan Hindu theological tradition of sowing Shatbees in the Pashupati area to pray for the good fortune of the departed ancestors.” Said Revathiraman Adhikari, spokesperson of the Pashupati Area Development Fund.
“All the responsibilities have been given to the cultural preservation department of the fund for the preparation of the Bala Chaturdashi festival this year. On the occasion of Bala Chaturdashi, the Pashupati area is crowded with lakhs of devotees. It is mentioned in the calendar (panchang) approved by Nepal Panchang Judiciary Development Committee that Bala Chaturdashi festival falls on 8th of November this year.” He added._Rss
