The world was blessed with the arrival of two small, pink cubs on the morning of August 15, 2024. Born to Ying Ying, the adored giant panda at Ocean Park, Hong Kong's cherished home-grown theme park. Since then, many people have fallen in love with these two treasures, a boy and a girl who represent rebirth and optimism.
The cubs, who are now two weeks old, are beginning to display the unique black-and-white coats that characterize their species. The characteristic black patches, especially around their eyes and arms, are gradually covering their once-pink bodies. The young child, who weighs about 328 grams, and her slightly younger brother, who weighs 278 grams, have both doubled their birth weights, which is a result of the committed daily care they get.
Ying Ying has accepted her new duty as a mother, being gently guided by her maternal instincts. She dedicates herself to providing the most loving care for her cubs, and their relationship gets deeper every day. She makes sure that every moment is warm and loving by spending her days feeding, caring for, and cuddling with them. The cubs are totally dependent on their mother and the loving care staff from Ocean Park and the China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP), as they are still too small to see or hear.

Under the watchful eyes of the CCRCGP and Ocean Park's animal care team, the twins are gently rotated between their mother's embrace and expert care, ensuring that both receive equal attention. The Park's commitment to providing the best possible care for these precious cubs is unwavering, reflecting a partnership dedicated to conservation, education, and the protection of wildlife.
