Nepalis living in Norway have provided financial assistance to three local levels in Doti District to buy health supplies to battle the outbreak of coronavirus infection.
Some Nepalis in Norway originally from the district voluntarily collected Rs 230,000 in cash to support KI Singh Rural Municipality, Shikhar Municipality and Sayal Municipality for the management of quarantine facilities and health supplies.
Vice-Chairperson of Sayal Rural Municipality Bishna Singh said that the support is meaningful at a time when local levels are struggling to manage health supplies and quarantine facilities since the number of returnees from India surged rapidly after the outbreak of coronavirus infection.
The amount received from Nepali diaspora in Norway was used to buy surgical masks and other essentials health materials, health coordinator of Shikhar Municipality Harish Shah said.
