Nepal is witnessing a surge of interest from Korean travellers, thanks to a collaborative effort by the Nepal Tourism Board, the Embassy of Nepal in Seoul, and the Korea Tours and Trekking Operators’ Association of Nepal (KTTOAN). On June 25, 2024, these organizations jointly hosted a Nepal Tourism Promotion Event in Gwangju, South Korea, designed as a B2B meeting to bolster tourism ties between the two nations. The event aimed to highlight Nepal's vast tourism offerings, providing a platform for Korean travel trade professionals to explore and engage with Nepal's diverse travel opportunities.

The Gwangju event was strategically structured to facilitate business-to-business interactions, allowing Korean tour operators and travel agencies to connect directly with Nepalese counterparts. This setup not only helped in promoting Nepal's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty but also in forging new business relationships and partnerships. Attendees had the opportunity to delve into detailed discussions about Nepal's unique attractions, including its renowned trekking routes, vibrant festivals, and UNESCO World Heritage sites.

The event's success in Gwangju has set the stage for a similar promotional event in Seoul, scheduled for June 27, 2024. The Seoul event is anticipated to draw even more interest, further solidifying Nepal's position as a preferred destination for Korean tourists. Through these targeted promotional efforts, Nepal aims to significantly increase tourist inflow from Korea, enhancing mutual tourism benefits and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
