Two-way vehicular movement has been obstructed in Satrakilo as the Narayangadh-Mugling road section collapsed this morning
As the road at Satrakilo along the Narayangadh-Mugling road section collapsed, the two-way vehicular movement has been affected. As the road collapsed this morning, the one-way traffic movement is resumed.
Division Road Office, Chitwan, said that repair work is underway to resume two-way traffic. Division Office Chief Krishna Adhikari said that the road section at Satrakilo and the nearby areas have sunk seriously affecting maintenance work.
Though the road section was extended and upgraded last year, damages are seen in different parts recently. Adhikari said the 15-meter-long road section at Satrakilo has collapsed. The road was upgraded by applying an anchor wall but the wall was eroded by the Trishuli River. Similarly, the about 70- meter-long road section at 26 Kilo has also sunk and 6.5 meters in width has collapsed.
Adhikari further said that they have called for tender bidding for the maintenance but no one has submitted the document till today.
