To view the sunrise and fog, more than 5,000 tourists traveled to Manungkot, Beas Municipality-5 in Tanahun. The majority of tourists this year arrived in Manungkot on Saturday to see the sunrise while the Damauli market was shrouded in fog.

With the onset of cold weather, tourists have increased in Manungkot to see the fog and the sunrise. Damauli market is shrouded in fog during cold weather. As the sun begins to shine, the fog slowly breaks. And the Damauli market looks colorful. A beautiful mountain range can be seen along with it.

From Manungkot, you can see Dhavalagiri, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, Manaslu, and Lamjung Himal. Since it is winter season and the sun shines in Manungkot in the morning, domestic tourists reach here early in the morning.

Damauli market is covered with fog and is also connected with mythology. There is a religious legend that in ancient times, Sage Parashara, the father of Maharishi Ved Vyas, created a fog so that people would not know when he expressed his desire to have intercourse with Satyavati.

After the increase in tourists in Manungkot, even those who left the village and came down to the city have started doing business again in Manungkot. Due to the lack of drinking water, the local residents left the village. Treated water from market jars and tankers is now providing an alternative to water in Manungkot.

“Manungkot was crowded with tourists since Friday night. Tourists who reached Manungkot on Friday night have spent the night in hotels and tents, while the crowd of tourists has increased since Saturday morning,” said local youth Anil Adhikari.

"The biggest crowd of this year has happened today, more than five thousand people are present. There was a problem in traffic management due to the arrival of domestic tourists." He added.

Manungkot has helped in the promotion of tourism in the district. Domestic tourists from the district and outside the district come here to see the sunset, sunrise, and mist, due to which the hotel business here has also flourished. We also spend one night in Manungkot and watch the sunrise." said Krishnachandra Pandey, a resident of Byas Municipality-2

“For the past few days, the hotels operating in Manungkot are full of domestic guests. The attraction of tourists has increased in Manungkot.” Said Chudamani Dahal, the owner of Hotel View Manung

“Manungkot is being developed as a tourist destination. He says that since Manungkot can see fog, sunrise and the picturesque mountain range, the tourist traffic has increased,” said Bishnu Kumar Shrestha, Ward President.

“I left Damauli and went up to Manungkot again due to the increase in the number of tourists in Manungkot,” said Vasanthi Thapa, who left Manungkot in 2052 due to lack of drinking water, and is now running a hotel in Manungkot._Rss
