The locals of Tanahun have constructed a view tower on a high hill. The local level of the district has already constructed observation pillars in some places with the objective of attracting tourists and has started the process of constructing additional pillars.Ghiring municipality is going to build Viewtowers in two more places and has already completed its project on the hills of Ghiringkot.

A three-storey view tower is constructed at Ghiringkot Gaonpalika-3 Ghiringkot Danda after the possibility of tourism was overshadowed due to the untouchability of the highway. Village Municipality Chairman Ran Bahadur Rana informed that the construction cost of Rs. 2 million was allocated by the municipality in the last fiscal year.

Rana says that the overall view of Ghiring can be seen from the view tower. He claims that the view from the mountain range, the green hills, the Nagbeli flood of the Kaligandaki river, and the hilly villages of Ghiring will attract tourists.

“Ghiring is a state under 24 states. In Ghiringkot, there are old weapons used by the king and ruins of the palace. We have built this level to increase the tourist activity in the historical bag, ”said Chairman Rana. He said that the municipality is preparing a tourism package to connect the locals with economic activities to stop the flow of people from the villages to the cities. "We are rich in art and culture. Tourists also need infrastructure to come, ”he said.“ The village municipality has emphasized on building artificial lakes, watchtowers and homestays closed to the river. ”

Budget has been allocated this year to build a lookout tower in Gajarkot of Ward No. 2 and Chandrakot of Ward No. 5 of the village municipality. A budget of Rs. 1 million has been allocated for the Gajarkot pillar and Rs. 2 million for Chandrakot, said Chairman Rana. He said, "It is a multi-year plan. The insufficient budget will be added next year as well."

Uvathok village is next to the Ghiringkot scenery. Homestay has been brought into operation in eight houses of Uvathok inhabited by the Magar community from this year. Chairman of Uwathok Community Homestay Purna Singh Thapa said that he is confident that the number of tourists coming to Homestay will increase after the construction of the view tower. He said that tourists are coming to the belvedere even in the middle of the epidemic.

"At this time, we have not kept guests in the homestay fearing the virus spread. We are hopeful that the number of visitors to the homestay will also increase as we see an increase in the number of domestic tourists coming to see the scenery, ”he said. Of course, Nepal's highest mountains are natural beauty towers in themselves. Due to the lack of infrastructure, tourists do not want to climb these high mountains, no matter how enticing they may look.

After ten years, Tanahu's Byas Municipality-5 Manahunkot has become 'viral'. Photos and videos of Manahunkot can be found everywhere on social media. Forgetting the fear of the virus, more than a thousand tourists climb the hill from Damauli to Manahunkot daily to watch the sunrise over Damauli Bazaar. The ward office has started construction of sightseeing points to attract more internal and external tourists to this naturally built lookout tower.

Three lookout towers have been constructed in Byas Municipality-6, Galekhamkot in the last fiscal year. Ward Chairman Surya Bhakta Bhandari said that a lookout tower has been constructed to attract tourists as there is potential for religious tourism. Bhandari informed that more than 20 people can see the scenery from the watchtower constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.65 million.

Bhandari informed that the number of domestic tourists has increased in Galekhamkot after the construction of the watchtower. "Even during the lockdown, domestic tourists kept coming," he said. From here, one can see the lakes of Kaski, Machhapuchche, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu and other mountains, said Bhandari.

It is believed that this step will also help in the publicity of the Kotbhairav temple in Galekhamkot, said Ward Chairman Bhandari. "Galekhamkot is a tourist destination in itself," said Bhandari, adding, "We expect the tourist activity in the region to increase further after the construction of the tower."

Galekhamkot, situated at an altitude of 2,207 m above sea level, is a place ruled by a Chakradhari king during his reign. The Kotbhairav temple here has special worship during Dashain. There is a complaint of the locals that this place is being overshadowed despite the tourist potential. Raj Kumar Shrestha, a local, said that it was believed that it would be publicized after the construction of the tower.
