The 'Ligligkot Homestay' has been brought into operation targeting tourists visiting Ligligkot in Palungtar Municipality-3, the birthplace of Nepal's unification. Chief of the municipality, Deepak Babu Kandel, informed that the houses have been brought into operation to propagate the history of Ligligkot by preserving and promoting the local art and culture and traditions. "There was no suitable place for the internal and external tourists to stay in the house," he said, adding, "Tourists coming here will get accommodation along with local products."

"As Ligligkot is the center of Nepal's history, there is a lot of potential for tourism. We are eager to sell its history and culture," he said. Bed Bahadur Ranamagar, the custodian of the housing board, informed that they have started housing in seven houses in Kholigaun. "Our goal is to have 20 houses in a short time," he said. "Now a separate house has been built to start housing." He informed that up to three people can stay in a one-room house built for housing.

Magar said that Rs. 330,000 has been spent for the construction of a one-room house. Each has a double bed and a single bed. Ranamagar informed that tourists visiting the homestay can enjoy organic produce and local art and culture as it is an area dominated by the Magar community. He said that Dr. Bal Krishna Sharma, who is currently living in the United States from Palungtar, has provided financial assistance of Rs. 2.1 million for the construction of the house.

A separate house has been built by the locals to accommodate the guests. Necessary furniture in the guest house has been provided by the Buddhist Himal Youth Club with the support of the United States and Nepal.
