Gokarneshwar Mahadev temple complex of historical, archeological, cultural, and religious importance will be kept clean and made a tourist destination both internally and externally.
The Gokarneshwar Temple Area Management Committee is going to pay special attention to cleaning by arranging two more cleaning staff. The Gokarneshwar area is becoming polluted with waste including plastic thrown by devotees in the temple area.
Muldhoka is also being constructed to develop the temple area as an attractive destination. The work is also being done to control the cattle coming from Jagdol hill in the temple area.
In collaboration with the Forest Department, the decomposable and non-decomposable wastes are separated and managed. Although it is a temple as important as Pashupatinath in terms of history, archeology, legend, and culture, the Gokarneshwar Mahadev temple area, which is lagging behind due to the neglect of the concerned bodies is going to do concrete work to develop the Gokarneshwar Mahadev temple area as an attractive destination.
The municipality is working to take all tourists coming from the Pashupati area to the Gokarneshwar area. 'Flex' reflecting the importance of Gokarneshwar has been placed in the Pashupati area. Because of this, tourists have started to increase in the Gokarneshwar area. As there is the worship of Sriyantra in Pashupatinath and Bala Yantra in Gokarneshwar, there is a classical belief that those who visit Pashupatinath should visit Gokarneshwar.
Under the initiative of the empowered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee, the work of organizing the river area by creating beggars along the river bank from Gokarneshwar to Uttar Gaya has reached its final stage. Because of this, it is expected that the religious importance of this area will increase.
As the construction of infrastructure in the river area has reached its final stage, it is believed that once it is completed, it will help in the cleaning of the temple area. The committee said that they are going to bring more programs for the promotion of the temple area.
“Even though those who come to perform shraddha pay a fee for cleaning, the government received complaints from devotees about improper management,” said Jairam Mahat, Chairman of Ward No. 4 of Gokarneshwar Municipality, who is also the chairman of the committee which is going to make improvements._Rss
