The Besisahar-Chame road has been restored after three months of the disruption. The route has also been extended above Dharapani, according to Chief District Officer Bishnu Lamichhane. The extended portion is five-kilometer long.

“Now we met the target of re-opening the road up to Chame before the Dashain festival,” he said. More, works are in the progress to restore the Eklobhatti and  Talekhu sections. Most of the roads in the district beyond the Himalayas were disrupted by monsoon rains, affecting life.

Even the supplies of essential goods including medicines were halted due to the traffic disruption.  The District Administration Office, Manang, the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and locals worked together to repair the damaged roads.

The construction of 107- KM Besisahar-Chame-Khangsar would complete once the works at the Talekhu-Bhatrang section concludes.
