Bajura, the district in the Sudur Paschim Province, has been declared a zone with the guarantee of full vaccination coverage and its sustainability. Local ownership, participation and commitments have been stressed for the sustainability of full immunisation coverage in the district. 

At a programme organised here Tuesday by the District Immunisation Coordination Committee, Province Assembly member and economic development resource committee president Govinda Kunwar made the announcement. 

Children since birth to below 15 months and from 16 to 23 months are found to have been administered all sorts of vaccines included in the government immunisation schedule at all local levels in the district.  District Health Office Bajura’s vaccination officer Mahesh Chand said children belonging to the above mentioned age groups in every local level were searched and administered the vaccine.  The office also reached children from disadvantaged community and ensured them required doses of vaccines. 

On the occasion Province Assembly member Kunwar said the government was expected to deal with the public health issues more seriously when the country was grappling with the pandemic.  

Sudur Paschim Province Health Directorate Director Guna Raj Awasthi said eight districts in the Province had been declared the fully immunised districts and the full immunisation had not been guaranteed only in Kailali. Tribeni municipality mayor Ram Singh Rawal demanded the smooth supplies of health materials and budget for the extension of medical services to cope with the crisis at the moment.
