Baitadi restricts gatherings at Teej, Gaura celebrations

People advised to celebrate festivals indoors .

The COVID-19 crisis management centre in Baitadi has prohibited celebration of the major festivals of Sudur Paschim Gaura, and Teej, celebrated by Hindu women due to rising risk of transmission at the local level.

Chief District Officer Mohanraj Joshi shared that locals were urged not to form crowds as per the decision of the government to prevent and control infection that is rising alarmingly in the country.
People are advised to celebrate the festivals indoors. The Gaura festival falls on August 26 and Teej on August 21 this year.

The local administration has decided to ban all sort of events that bring together a large number of people such as seminars, assembly, workshops and trainings to decrease the infection risk in the district.
