Jack, who is currently hiking, claimed that due to the area’s chilly climate, nearby mountain views, natural foods, and scenic hikes, foreign tourists are drawn to Tikot and stay for a day to take in the area’s natural beauty. The face of Tikot village has changed due to the foreign and domestic tourists coming to Bamran through the Annapurna-Dhaulagiri community footpath which has been put into operation covering various rural settlements of Myagdi and Parbat.
With the initiative of social activist Mahavir Pun and the financial support of the Small Business Development Program, the footpath that has been put into operation covering the rural parts of seven villages of Myagdi and two villages of Parbat has attracted more tourists from Germany, America, Australia, Britain, Israel, France and other countries.
The income from tourists will be spent on village community development, education, health institution operation, tourism infrastructure construction, etc. Tourists are also excited. The trail, which can be completed in a week to 10 days, starts from the winding lake of Piple and passes through Parvat's Banskhark, Dandakteri, Myagdiko Nagi, Hampal Danda, Mahredanda, Tikot via Khiwang and Mohredanda, Ghorepani, Khopralek, Nanchang and ends at Bhurung Tatopani.
"The residents of this place, who have never seen what foreign tourists are like until the footpath touches them, are now happy to welcome tourists every day. Homestays and homestay services have been operated in the village, the sale of local products has increased, and the income of the villagers has increased." Said jack.
“The number of tourists visiting this trail, which has been in operation for five years, is increasing.” Said Chitra Tilija Pun, manager of the trail.
“Tourists are attracted by the picturesque snow chains of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, Langtang, and other mountains visible from the footpath, natural beauty, lifestyle of the Magar community, community spirit, found on the footpath, cattle rearing, sheep rearing, etc.” said Manager Pun.
"There is a road in the village, if the village has facilities, the tourists who come to visit will travel through the footpath," said Ganga Pun, a 61-year-old local._Rss
