Kathmandu — The Government of Nepal has appointed Anil Kumar Sinha as the new Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, assigning him responsibility for one of the country’s most visible and economically significant portfolios.
Mr Sinha has previously served as Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies in the Government of Nepal, giving him prior experience in managing key economic sectors. His new role places him in charge of cultural heritage preservation, tourism development, and civil aviation oversight—areas closely linked to Nepal’s international profile and economic recovery.
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation is responsible for safeguarding Nepal’s diverse cultural assets, promoting tourism as a major source of employment and foreign exchange, and regulating the civil aviation sector, including airports and air services.
While no detailed policy agenda has yet been formally announced following his appointment, expectations remain focused on strengthening tourism promotion, improving aviation governance, and ensuring the protection and promotion of Nepal’s cultural heritage.
Mr Sinha’s appointment comes as the government continues to adjust its Cabinet, with an emphasis on administrative continuity and sectoral coordination.
