Forty-three species of birds were found in the Narayani River area where birds which were less than last year

During this year's waterfowl count, 43 species of birds have been found in Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Susta East). Bird Count Coordinator of Chitwan National Park West Sector DB Chaudhary informed, 43 species of birds have been found in the Nawalpur area this year.

Four species of birds that were not seen last year have appeared this year. One hundred and sixty-two species of birds are found in the water area of ​​Nepal. Among them, this species were found in the Narayani river area this year. Birds were counted in four groups in Chitwan National Park and Narayani River and wetlands towards Nawalpur.

Birds have been counted in four groups Sighrauli to Amaltari, Sighrauli to Pitholi, Pitholi to Amaltari, and Amaltari to Triveni Gandak Barrage. It is preliminarily estimated that the overall number of birds this year has decreased compared to last year.

Some species of birds are more than last year and some species are less compared to last. Chakhewa, Khoya duck, Jalewa, and Pani Gauthali birds are found in this area. Although there is no significant difference in the number of Raithane birds found in the Narayani River and wetlands including the park, the number of visiting birds has decreased a lot.

"This year too, we found that the number of birds has decreased overall. The number of birds is gradually decreasing in Nepal every year. Among the guest birds that come here from the northern hemisphere including Siberia to escape the cold, the largest number of black ducks were seen this year,” said Chaudhary.

"In last year's bird count, 38 species of birds were found. In this year's count, 43 species of birds were found in the Narayani river area. A bird named 'Raj Sud Sudia', which was not found in the Narayani area until now, was found during the bird count,” said Chaudhary.

"In this year's census, birds of Jure Hutitau, Belcha Thude Duck, Jure Duck, and Lal Khutte Tim Tia species have been found. Birds of these species were not counted in the Nawalpur area of ​​Chitwan National Park last year." He added. _RSS
