The country has recorded 3,421 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours with 25 people dead taking the death toll to 9,738

The country has recorded 3,421 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The number was detected in course of conducting 12,240 RT-PCR tests and 1030 antigen tests in various laboratories across the country. With this, the total number of COVID-19 infections has reached 738,918 as of today.

A total of 3,551,323 RT-PCR tests and 294,761 antigen tests have been carried out in the country so far. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 1,686 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours while the recovery rate is 94.5 percent.

Similarly, 25 more people succumbed to COVID-19 in the same period. With this, the number of people who have died from the coronavirus has reached 9,738 so far. The highest number of people infected from COVID-19 includes those in the 21-30 years age group which stands at 677 followed by the 31-40 year age group, which is 538.
