A total of 2,977 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

A total of 2,977 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. In a routine virtual press conference, the Ministry shared that the new cases were confirmed from 13,698 PCR tests and 3,610 antigen tests conducted during the same period. 

Similarly, 1,678 COVID-19 patients recovered in a day, taking the total recovery number to 639,368. The recovery percentage stands at 94.5 percent. Likewise, altogether 18 people infected with the flu-like infection lost their lives in the past 24 hours. With this, the COVID-19 fatality caseload totals 9,679 as of now. 

The number of active cases currently stands at 27,661 with 7,845 in the Kathmandu Valley alone. 
Among the active cases, 24,983 were receiving treatment at home isolation and 2,678 in the institutional ones. There are 682 COVID-19 patients in the ICU facility while 175 in ventilator support, the Minister said.
