Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality is going to celebrate the year 2080 as the year of tourism. The year of tourism is going to be celebrated by publicising and promoting 30 tourist destinations within the metropolitan city.
The Metropolitan Corporation has discussed with the authorised personnel regarding the visit year. The participants in the discussion have suggested fixing the program so as to prolong the stay of the tourists who come here. Tourism businessmen said that special programs should be announced for the visiting year.
They suggested that tourism committees should be formed in all the wards within the municipality. They said that they should make tourism year 2080 a success by activating every toll improvement committee in the ward.
Dinesh Chuke, president of the Hoteliers Federation of Nepal, said, “In the event that the economic situation is deteriorating and there is a need for improvement. There are more than 250 hotels in Bharatpur metropolis and more than 600 hotels in the district. The hotels in the district should be made operational.”
Tourism expert of Bharatpur metropolis, Dr. Vishwa Subedi said, “Everyone's cooperation is needed to promote Bharatpur metropolis as a tourist area nationally and internationally. The visit this year will be positive for improving the deteriorating economy.”
Chairman of Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chunnarayan Shrestha, suggested, “It would be better if night entertainment programs could be arranged during the visit year.”
In the event, Chitrasen Adhikari, deputy head of the Metropolitan Municipality and organiser of the Bharatpur Visit Year 2080 executive committee, clarified that the local government is serious about the development of the tourism industry and tourism business._RSS
