A tourist information center has been established in Panauti, the historical and archaeological town of Kavrepalanchok. On the occasion of the 15th foundation day of the Panauti Tourism Development Center, the center was established in Ward No. 7, which is located in the heritage area.
The Minister of Water, Energy, and Irrigation of Bagmati State Government, Tirtha Lama, inaugurated the office of the center on Thursday in the midst of a program. He said that it is necessary to make Panauti religiously known, to increase the arrival of tourists, and to extend the stay of religious tourists, and he said that he would assist in the process of listing Panauti as a world heritage site.
The Center has been established with the aim of introducing tourists to the tourist spots within the Panauti area through the information center, managing the vehicles, easing the problems faced by the tourists coming to Panauti, and also providing security. It is said that all tourist information of Panauti will be organized in the same center.
On this occasion, Ram Sharan Bhandari, Panauti Nagar chief, said that continuous work is being done for the development, protection, and promotion of tourist spots in the Panauti area. Central Vice President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Surkrishna Vaidya said that the tourism sector will play an important role in the development and prosperity of Panauti.
Purushottam Karmacharya, president of the center, said that efforts to make Panauti known religiously are institutionalized and the goal is to increase the possibility of tourists coming from the local level. According to him, the aim of the information center is to satisfy the interest of tourists in the culture and civilization after entering the Panauti market. It is expected that the tourism information center will provide more support for the sustainable development of Panauti.
Stating that the Panauti Tourism Development Center has previously conducted 180 different programs, Founder President Suresh Sainju said that more support will be provided through the established center to make Panauti known internationally. Panauti City Office has been providing financial support to Tourism Development Center every year.
