NAC aircraft makes successful test flight at Resunga Airport

On April 28th, a Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) plane successfully completed a test flight at Resunga Airport. The plane departed from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and landed at Resunga Airport, located in Simichaur of Resunga Municipality-10 in Gulmi. This test flight was conducted in preparation for commercial flights, as per the agreement between the NAC and the municipality.

Yograj Kandel, the spokesperson of the Nepal Airlines Operators Association, stated that plans are being made for commercial flights following today's successful test flight. The NAC will begin commercial flights after a technical team has carried out the necessary assessments. The travel fare and the number of passengers on each flight will be determined after the study. However, Kandel added that the plane fare could be around Rs 6,000 per person for Resunga-Kathmandu flights.

Captain Manish Bista of NAC said that regular flights would be conducted after submitting today's flight report to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) within a week. The construction of the airport was completed several months ago, after 16 years of its commencement. The airport's runway is 520 meters long and 20 meters wide, with an elevation of 1,526 meters above sea level. The airport is spread over 156 ropani of land and was built with an investment of Rs 330 million.

After the successful test flight, the Mayor of Resunga Municipality, Khildhowj Panthi, expressed his happiness that the people's dream of traveling to Kathmandu by plane will soon be realized. The successful test flight marks an important step forward for the people of Resunga and will provide greater connectivity to the region. The opening of this new airport will also provide economic opportunities for the area, and it is hoped that it will encourage more tourism in the region._Rss
