The birthplace of Gautam Buddha, Lumbini, is set to host the 'Buddhist International Travel Mart' from May 11 to 13, with the aim of promoting tourism in the region. The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, the Nepal Tourism Board, and the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA).
Over 200 attendees are expected, including tourism entrepreneurs, Buddhist vikkhus, representatives from Buddhist associations, tour operators, and national tourism council representatives from countries such as Nepal, China, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar, and Korea. Presentations on tourism promotion and potentialities in Nepal and Lumbini will be made, and a 'B2B' event will be held during the three-day event at Hotel Pawan Palace in Lumbini. The event is expected to cost approximately Rs 16 million and will be inaugurated by Lumbini Province Chief Minister Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary. The theme of the event is 'Explore the Buddha Land.'_Rss
