International chartered flights from Tribhuvan International Airport will now be operated out of Bhairahawa’s Gautam Buddha International Airport, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

According to the winter flight schedule implemented by the authority from the 30th of October, one flight in every three flights from Kathmandu along with chartered flights will be from Bhairahawa. Chartered flights from abroad have already started landing at Bhairahawa.

The Authority has instructed three foreign airlines, including Nepal Airlines Corporation and Himalaya Airlines, to operate one daily flight at Gautam Budh Airport as per the winter flight schedule.

Currently, Nepal Airlines Corporation, Himalaya Airlines, Air Arabia, Qatar Airways, and Fly Dubai are operating more than three flights per day at Tribhuvan International Airport, while Jazeera Airlines is operating three flights per week at Gautam Buddha International Airport located in Bhairahawa.

“The authority has decided that the chartered flights from Tribhuvan International Airport will now be operated from Bhairahawa in order to fully utilize the Gautam Buddha International Airport, which has been in operation since 16th May last year,” said Pradeep Adhikari, Director General.

“Diplomatic chartered flights, cargo flights, and military flights will be conducted from Tribhuvan International Airport.” He added._Rss
