Hyatt Centric Soalteemode Kathmandu is delighted to welcome Souvik Dutta as its new Head Chef. Originally from Kolkata, India, Souvik brings more than 14 years of culinary expertise, creative flair, and leadership experience to the hotel’s vibrant dining scene.
A graduate in Hotel Management, Souvik began his career with Hyatt in 2011 and has since advanced through several key positions, guided by his passion for gastronomy, innovation, and excellence. Most recently, he held the role of Executive Sous Chef at Hyatt Regency Kolkata. His promotion to Head Chef at Hyatt Centric Soalteemode Kathmandu represents a significant step in his professional journey.
Reflecting on his journey, Souvik shared, “Hyatt’s people-centric culture and dedication to talent development have inspired me from the very beginning—fueling a greater sense of purpose and responsibility.”
Among his career highlights is the creation of a chef mentorship program that supports junior chefs in both culinary skills and leadership development—an initiative that has strengthened team collaboration and elevated overall kitchen performance.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Souvik is an avid culinary enthusiast who enjoys exploring global food cultures through travel, reading, and photography. He is also passionate about sports and aspires to one day open his own restaurant—one that blends creativity, mentorship, and passion.
