A three-day international conference on sustainable mountain tourism has started today at the Chandragiri Hills Resort in Chandragiri, Kathmandu.
The conference was inaugurated by Minister of Culture and Tourism Civil Aviation Jeevan Ram Shrestha. Suresh Adhikari, secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Tourism and Civil Aviation, expressed his belief that the conference will help Nepal's mountain tourism.
“The conference will prove to be a special milestone for the necessary policy changes in Nepal's mountain tourism.” Said Minister Shrestha, while addressing the opening program
“Mountain tourist spots are disappearing due to infrastructure development in Nepal and such places should be protected.” said American geologist Dr. Alten Bayer
“100 tourism workers and scientists will participate in the three-day conference. There will be a discussion about the various types of research in the sustainable mountain area and the solution to the problems of the mountain tourism sector during the world climate change,” said Nepal Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer Dr. Dhananjay Regmi._Rss
